MAY
May is such a festive month full of celebrations
and parades. Everyone is preparing for the long hot summer months ahead.
In the deep South, it's the last month before the devil settles in for a four-month
visit.
Spring also brings forth berries - a Dieter's Delight! Berries contain a small amount of calories, are
very filling and pack an impressive amount of necessary vitamins and nutrients.
To enjoy your berries to the fullest, try some of the following suggestions:
Enjoy
them frozen. They'll cool your hot Manly lips and will take longer to
eat than when fresh. Use a few of your frozen berries to make a tasty
Slimming Shake: 1/2 cup of berries, 1 cup of skimmed milk and a blender.
Freeze
your berries in ice cube trays to add to drinks on those hot Spring days when
the guys drop by. They'll appreciate the extra trouble that you've put yourself
through to make things nicer for them.
Mix
fresh berries with Splenda or Equal, then top with light whipped topping. Serve
on anglefood cake OR plop a few berries in your next batch of sugar free gelatin.
Keep in mind that most berries do not 'keep'
well so use up your berries as soon as possible.
