Counting calories is one of the most effective modes of weight loss. Carb dieting, as well as counting fat grams have sent many dieters in a tailspin in regards to effortless dieting. Here's why...

Carb Dieting: The Dieter may assume that dieting is as simple as counting all the carbs they intake for the day and meeting 'x' number of carbs.

Fact: The Carb Dieter must also limit 'allowed' items - which isn't a bad thing at all.  However, with this added necessity, the carb count process becomes more challenging.

Counting Fat Grams: The dieter who counts fat grams often times cuts back too far on fat intake, with many dieters assuming that any fat is too much fat.

Our bodies require a certain amount of fat each day from the daily diet.  And simply counting the fat grams in the foods consumed isn't a guarantee for weight loss. Here's why:

Fact:  An apple contains zero fat grams but the fat gram counting dieter cannot eat all the apples that they desire in one day or they will experience weight gain - dieting or not.

Therefore, dieting is certainly not as simple as we would like it to be - no matter what type of weight loss plan we choose!

If you've thought about counting calories as a means of weight loss, but thought it might be too much trouble, keep in mind the above. Counting calories is one of the most accurate modes for weight loss.
