The Diet
Moral According to Tommy Toad
Tommy Toad represents
our Un-Diet Days of Careless Feasting. Here we are, frolicking,
running, and eating while we are running.
During our Un-Diet
Days of Careless Feasting, we continue to eat foods that aren't
the healthiest, but are
the fattest, sweetest and friedest (yes, that IS a diet word) that
we can find.
We seem to be continually searching for something more
to eat during our Un-Diet Days of Careless Feasting, yet no matter
how much we eat, we cannot seem to get full - completely
full and satisfied.
Then suddenly, without
warning, while we are frolicking and hopping, our delight is completely
smothered (i.e. Goddess Gilda). It might come in the form
of health problems or it might come in the form of someone hurting
our feelings by making a hurtful comment about our weight, or it
might come in the form of being fearful of ballooning up so large,
that we might entirely lose hope of ever reaching a 'normal' weight
again.
Nonetheless, sooner
or later, our Un-Diet Days of Careless Feasting do catch up with
us, and quite unexpectedly at that.
So what can we do so
that we don't end up like little Tommy Toad?
Examine our current
diet for pitfalls and exchange good for bad until the unwanted weight
is gone.
Ditch yo-yo dieting
for good! Yo-yo dieting will only contribute to further weight
gain, even though the dieter may go down, because it's generally
temporary. Once 'the mood' to diet has been expended, the individual
usually regains the weight, rapidly.
Even though we want
to be in the healthiest state possible, it's not easy getting there.
And there is certainly more to 'being healthy' than being at a 'healthy
weight'. On that note, if we add things that we do enjoy to our
Diet Plan, we'll be more apt to stick to our diet plan so some very
good things can happen!
Finally, we must slow
down; we must take time out to plan our diets. Our bodies
will hop higher for our healthy efforts.
