Goddess at
the Diet Oasis...
Fiddle While Diet Roams
There
is a lot of fiddling around in the world today, as daily diets roam
free. A Diet Fiddler sort of closes their eyes to calories
and fat, and enjoys feasting for the moment.
In the back of
their mind, they are a lot like those who fear going to the doctor
because the doctor might actually discover something bad. They
figure, "What I don't know, won't hurt me."
Weighty
thoughts may go something
like this, "If I am not aware of the amount of calories and
fat that I am consuming, I cannot possibly gain more weight."
So the individual grabs
all those goodies that they like and enjoys their fill. It
may be a platter of cookies, or a pan of brownies, or a rack of
ribs. It may only be one cookie, one slice of cake, and four
slices of pan pizza within a few hours of a normally scheduled meal.
Grazing is common with Diet Fiddlers.
The individual may even
think, "I am too fat to lose all the extra weight." OR,
"Why bother? I'll worry about losing weight after the
holidays OR after I hit the big five-o."
Unfortunately for the
Dieter who is fiddling around and allowing their diet to roam free,
what they don't know may cause grief and future health problems.
Ignoring the amount of calories that one eats throughout the
day doesn't make them go away - as the Diet Fiddler soon discovers
as unwanted weight continues to pack on.
Possible solution: One
of the best solutions to keep a diet on track is to make a list
throughout the day of everything that is eaten. At the end
of the day, grab a calorie book and add up all the calories that
have been consumed.
This technique will
allow the individual to see just how many calories they are consuming,
and will help them trim back the amount of calories that are needed
to achieve weight loss.
